The article discusses the ongoing political scandal caused by the guilty pleas of lobbyist Jack Abramoff to charges of corruption, with particular focus on the currently defunct House Ethics Committee. Comments from Congresswoman Louise Slaughter of the House Rules Committee are included. Also included are comments from Melanie Sloan of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW). It is the author's view that Democrats continue to complain about ethics scandals without doing anything about them.
