'Never Before!' Our Amnesiac Torture Debate

The article presents the author's views on the issue of torture and the administration of U.S. President George W. Bush. The author discusses the United States military's School of the Americas training camp, which was in operation from 1946 to 1984. According to the author, students of the School of the Americas were taught "coercive interrogation" techniques that have since migrated to Guantánamo Bay and Abu Ghraib. Also discussed is Alfred McCoy's forthcoming book "A Question of Torture."
