The article discusses the issue of human rights worldwide, in light of International Human Rights Day on December 10, 2005. The author discusses how mainstream human rights groups have recently argued that forming a union is included in the human rights of freedom of speech and association. The article includes comments on the issue from Jamie Fellner, director of the United States program at Human Rights Watch.
