The article looks at the activities of former U.S. Senator John Edwards after a failed campaign for vice president. Edwards launched an antipoverty campaign. He is the director of the Center on Poverty, Work and Opportunity at the University of North Carolina. This is a think tank that brings together antipoverty scholars, activists and politicians. Edwards has launched his College for Everyone program in Greene County, where the program pays for the first year of college for local high school graduates willing to work ten hours a week. Edwards is running campaigns to lift the minimum wage in Ohio, Arizona and Michigan. Edwards will embark on a national tour of college campuses where he will speak to students about ending poverty. Edwards offers his views on the Iraq War.
