Comments on the handling of Hurricane Katrina by the United States' right-wing government. Argument that the failure of the government to act in New Orleans was the culmination of years of disparagement of public responsibility, lead by the right, intended to enhance corporate plundering and the wealthy while punishing everyone else; Belief that the Democratic party will squander the opportunity to react to the right-wing blunder with a vision that responds to people's most pressing concerns.
