The article discusses the lack of a report on the role of the United States President George W. Bush administration in using prewar intelligence on Iraq's weapons of mass destruction (WMD) status to build public support for the Iraq invasion. In July 2004, the Senate Intelligence Committee released a report on the prewar intelligence on weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. The study concluded that the intelligence community had "overstated" and "mischaracterized" the intelligence on Iraq's (nonexistent) WMDs. But the committee's report did not cover a crucial area: how the Bush Administration used the prewar intelligence to build support for the Iraq invasion. Pat Roberts, the Republican chairman of the committee, has declared further investigation pointless. The evidence is strong that Bush and his aides overstated the overstated intelligence.
