Discusses the advocation of state sponsored health for every person in Vermont by Dr. Deborah Richter. Responses from the business community, including the fact that they do not trust the government with healthcare and they fear that initially acceptable tax rates would soar; Description of how the bills would be paid by funneling public funds now financing Medicare, Medicaid and other government programs into a unified system; Replacement of premiums and deductibles with payroll taxes; Disadvantages of the current system, including the absence of disease management and preventive care for those without insurance.
