This article presents information about the book "G.B. Shaw. A Collection of Critical Essays," edited by R.J. Kaufmann. In this short but remarkably diversified collection of fourteen essays, edited by Kaufmann, an attempt is made to set George Bernard Shaw free from the bonds of misunderstanding by employing a wide critical prism with which to isolate, refract and illuminate the Shavian art. Beginning with a panegyric from a young Bertolt Brecht, it ranges through such diverse approaches as psychiatrist Erik Erikson's analysis of the familial environment on the Shavian talent and through Richard Ohmann's use of linguistic analysis to define the roots of Shaw's style.
