The article focuses on the book "Giraud and the African Scene," by G. Ward Price. Mr. Price's account of the months immediately following the North African invasion skims lightly over the facts. He defends the policy of cooperation with the Pétainists on grounds of principle as well as expediency. Price is cool to the claims of the Committee of National Liberation to represent the French people and even goes so far as to imply that it has no influence within France.
