This article presents information on events related to various socio-political issue to be held in the U.S. The conference titled "Feminist Perspectives on Population, Immigration and the Environment," will be held at Union Seminary, 3041 Broadway, Manhattan, New York City on October 25-26, 1996. The conference will explore connections between environmental racism, anti-immigration backlash and attacks on the reproductive rights of women of color. An evening with Jean-Bertrand Aristide, President of Haiti, held at King Middle School, North Berkeley, California on October 6, brought a powerful vision of international human rights and dignity for the poor in the benefit for the Aristide Foundation for Democracy and for Radyo Timoun, children's free radio in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
