This article presents information related to special events and activities going on in the United States. The television (TV) channel DCIV offers a new series of workshops to train community activists and nonprofit agencies in Manhattan in how to make video programs for Manhattan public-access TV channels. The Center for Democratic Values, the think-tank project of Democratic Socialists of America, is holding its first national conference November 6-7 in Columbus. It will feature a public left-right debate, sponsored by Capital University, with Cornel West and Barbara Ehrenreich versus David Frum and Stuart Butler.
