This article presents information related to various events to be held in the U.S. World Hunger Year will honor the winners of the Harry Chapin Media Awards. Journalists will speak on issues related to hunger and poverty. Award-winning photojournalism will be displayed. In June the National Welfare Rights Union toured thirty communities on the New Freedom Bus, documenting economic human rights abuses involved in workfare. Invitations are extended to those interested in being part of the culmination, as hundreds of activists and advocates rally on July 1, 1998 at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza.
