People have had no sane and rational discussion of principles of government or of the social and economic problems which confront not only the American Republic but the whole world. The slogan of "Production for Use" and not profit or that Republicans will enter 1940 stripped of their incredibly anachronistic assumption that they, defenders of reaction, special privileges and great government-created riches, have suddenly become champions of freedom and of liberty. What is coming is a vital struggle to preserve institutions and freedom from the very beneficiaries of economic system who now portray themselves as the champions of liberty.
