The article presents information related to the winners of the Joan Leiman Jacobson Poetry Prize for the year 1999. In its twenty-fifth year, the annual contest celebrates poets whose work has not been published previously in book form. Some of the new winners are, Cassandra Dickson, Miranda Field, Nick Flynn and Eric LeMay. This year's judges are Michael Collier, James Longenbach and Ellen Bryant Voigt. In the competition, whose manuscripts are screened and judged anonymously, distinguished former winners include the judges of this year's contest, as well as Katha Pollitt, Mary Jo Salter, Sherod Santos, Arthur Smith, David St. John and Rosanna Warren.
