The article focuses on the recent developments in the field of theater. The theatre group A Chorus Line, recently celebrated its 5,000th performance at the Schubert Theater. A Chorus Line has achieved an institutional status that may allow it to run forever, becoming one of the sights of the city that every tourist must take in, every child be brought to view before the onset of puberty. The Festival Latino is returning to the Public Theater for the eleventh year. The festival imports live theater, movies and a little music from all quarters of the Spanish-speaking world by way of providing a Hispanic equivalent to the service the Public Theater regularly provides the city's English-speaking majority, a bit of cultural couth, some high style, art for art's sake instead of for money's.
