The article presents various socio-political developments around the world. The Boston insurance companies have taken the trouble to investigate the recent fire in that city, and report to the municipal authorities a state of affairs which is in the last degree disgraceful. The only information as to the policy of the new French Government is to be found in a circular issued to French representatives abroad by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Due de Brogue, in which the foreign policy will be maintained by the successors, and that there was no fault found with it by the Assembly which led to the ministers overthrow, but fears that he was not furnishing the country with sufficient guarantees against revolutionary attempts.
