Abstract

Female Education in Italy

This article critically appraises various books on female education in Italy. Some of these books are: "Un Passo avanti nella Cultura Femminile," by Anna Maria Mozzoni; "Woman and Her Social Relations, on Occasion of the Revision of the Civil Code of Italy" and "The Rights of Woman, a Lecture Before the Pietrasanti Institute." All these books are concerned with various socio-cultural, political, demographic, and economic aspects of women education in Italy. Among the Italian teachers who are laboring for this end with intelligent and affectionate zeal, it is good in being able to count a lady who, by the importance of her writings, the solidity of her attainments, and the elevation of her life, is now universally admitted to have acquired the right of placing herself at the head of the movement for that regeneration.
