It is informed that Mr. George Walker, who was sent abroad to negotiate a loan for Massachusetts has failed to accomplish his object. The reason for the failure was attributed to the fact that foreign capitalists didn't have very high opinion of the Massachusetts credit which once placed her securities among the best in the world. It is hoped that an opportunity will be given Mr. Walker to state publicly the nature and extent or the difficulties in the way of the loan he attempted to negotiate, so that the citizens, not only of his State, but of all other States, may have a few useful landmarks to guide their future financial course.
