The article focuses on the book "Great Britain: A Record of Travel in English Speaking Countries During 1866-7," by Charles Wentworth Dilke. Quite a number of the traits of character, which degrade humanity to the level of the brutes the author, seemed to have possessed in lull measure; falsehood, it appeared, was his natural way of speech. The author was insolent to a degree; he rabidly hated free institutions; he would have overthrown this Government if he could, and so far as shameless perversions of the truth could injure the Government or the people. The whole subject had a look of unprofitableness and seemed to belong to a past generation.
