The article focuses on the attitude of the U.S. Republican party towards the American legal system. It is observable in the history of the Republican party that its representatives in the U.S. Congress have been arrayed generally against the judiciary of the U.S. Ever since the civil war ended there have been Republican members of Congress in some way or other attempting to interfere with the administration of justice in the U.S. courts. It appears as if from the moment when a Republican lawyer went upon the bench, an indefinable separation began between him and his political friends, widening gradually into a condition of positive antagonism.
