The article reports on recent socio-political developments. In Europe, where the traditions of the period of American foreign policy still survive, and where the American Government is still supposed to be constantly hankering for war with a view of influencing votes, the news of possible troubles between the U.S. and Spain. General trade in the U.S. during November 1875, has been of fair volume and good for the season. Demand loans continue easily obtainable at 4 to 5 per cent. The New York banks still have resting with them large balances belonging to the perk-packing trade, which is restricted this season by reason of the high price of corn and the consequent high price of hogs.
