The Republican Cabinet in France

This article presents information on French politics. M. Gambetta has joined in the cry for what is called a "homogeneous cabinet," but the author has it from good authority that he is not inclined to create too much embarrassment for Marshal Macmahon. He shows himself much more moderate on this point than M. Thiers, who is burning to take revenge for the 24th of May, and who will never be satisfied till the Marshal is disgusted out of office. Gambetta is young, and he is in no hurry. He has the flexible mind of an Italian, and he has no desire to bring matters to a crisis.
