The article discusses the book "The Sexes Throughout Nature," by Antoinette Brown Blackwell. A sincere desire for the amelioration of women for a greater advancement in the same direction in which the progress of civilization has already carried them ought to have inspired a very different line of argument from what Mrs. Blackwell has seen fit to follow in the principal essay of her book, that "On Sex and Evolution." The practical good sense and skill in accomplishing desirable ends by appropriate means, which is naturally a true feminine superiority, would have dictated a different course.
