The discusses about the feminist movements in the universities as a whole while putting its focus on the sexual harassment in the U.S. The feminist movement has adopted a politics of identity, a conception of political change as a goal to be pursued at both the personal and the societal level. The most visible feminist issue on college campuses has centered on sexual harassment. When it first surfaced feminist students defined it as an abuse of institutionally conferred authority. In a case a faculty member demanded sexual favors from a student in exchange for grades. Advances by faculty and other offensive behavior were also singled out. It provided a solid basis for fighting institutionalized sexism.
