The article provides information on the recent political developments in the U.S. The objections made by the Nevada Supreme Court Justice Charles E. Springer to the vote of one of the Nevada electors broke down, as a mistake had been made as to the nature of the disqualifying office hold by him, and no further hindrance to the count occurred till Oregon was reached, when, there being two sets of returns, the case went to the Commission, and was argued for the Democrats, who had furnished the original opinion on which Governor Lafayette Grover acted. Next week, the present U.S. Congress will have ceased to exist. On the other side of the picture, the House has exhibited a masterly ignorance on all subjects connected with finance, and that petty spirit of unenlightened economy which generally leads to more waste than it prevents.
