This article presents information on several recent socio-political developments. It is informed that the U.S. Supreme Court has taken certain decisions with regard to the cases for violation of statutes relating to trade-marks. The question involved was the constitutionality of these statutes. The U.S. Supreme Court declared the statutes as invalid and unconstitutional. However, it would be a mistake to suppose that trade-marks no longer afford any protection, or that anybody is free to use an established trade-mark. In another instance , it is informed that foreign gold continues to flow into the U.S. and the specie imports since the resumption of specie payments have mounted up to more than dollar 67,000,000, of which about 861,000 has arrived since August 1, 1879.
