This article presents several socio-political developments in the U.S. as of 1879. G.W. Curtis has thought it necessary to resign his position is Chairman of the Richmond County Republican Convention, owing to the "serious dissatisfaction" felt by some of the Republicans of the Convention at his recommending the scratching of the ticket in "Harper's Weekly."
