The article presents information about the publication of various new books. Among the books to be published by publishers Cassell Petter & Galpin are "The Landed Interest and the Supply of Food," by James Caird, "Handy Commentary," and "Wild White Cattle of Great Britain," by John Sterer. Author Matthew Arnold contributes to the July 1879 issue of the journal Macmillan, an essay which is to preface a forthcoming volume of the book "Wordsworth's Select Poems." The tenth annual report of the Massachusetts Railroad Commissioners for the year 1878 is the latest of a series which have attracted marked attention, both from railway officials and from the more thoughtful part of the general public.
