This article presents information regarding the political and economic developments in the U.S. and world. U.S. President has vetoed the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial Appropriation Bill. The bill had a rider attached, which repealed the provisions of the Enforcement Act giving the U.S. supervisors appointed by the courts authority to formally scrutinize, count, and canvass each ballot cast at Congressional elections, and authority to U.S. marshals and deputy-marshals to challenge and arrest and preserve order at the polls, and prescribing penalties for interfering with them in the discharge of their duties. The net outcome of the extra session during has been the passage by the U.S. Congress of the bill providing for the redemption of the subsidiary currency, with a limitation of its legal-tender quality to ten dollars, one more measure in the disastrous series at the head of which stands the Bland Bill.
