The article focuses on developments in the field of literature and its publishing, as of April 10, 1879. An English translation of the Due de Broglie's book "King's Secret" is now published in two handsome volumes. The interesting work has been so fully noticed in its Paris correspondence that publishers need say nothing more of the nature of its contents. The Sixth Annual Conference of Charities will assemble at the Grand Pacific Hotel, Chicago, on June 10, 1879 for a three days' sessions. The Governor of Illinois will deliver the opening address.
