The article presents information on several books and publishers. Robert Clarke & Co. publish immediately The Secret of the Andes, a romance by F. Hassaurek, formerly U.S. Minister to Ecuador, and author of a very readable work on that country. Little, Brown & Co. have in press the Memoir and Writings of Benjamin Robbins Curtis, edited by his son, Benjamin R. Curtis. The first volume will contain the memoir, with which will be printed for the first time Judge Curtis' correspondence with Chief-Justice Roger Brooke Taney in relation to the Bred Scott decision. Charles Scribner's Sons have reprinted the useful little book by C.F. Keary, titled, The Dawn of History. Kate N. Doggett's translation of Charles Blane's Grammar of Painting and Engraving, originally published in 1873-4 by Hurd & Houghton, comes to the reader now in a still handsome third edition, bearing the imprint S.C. Griggs & Co.
