The article presents information on the current political situation in England. It is informed that the course of legislation in England is dull, and there is nothing exciting in prospect. It seems probable that the remainder of the session will be very humdrum, and that its interest will have been exhausted in those lively debates upon the Afghan war which took place before the recess. There was no second Queen's speech, as it had been thought possible there might be, and the national legislators have settled down to the discussion of domestic measures more or less substantial indeed, but not calculated to renew the strife of parties or to agitate the public mind. The Opposition, for the moment, is not aggressive, and the Government is not jubilant.
