The article presents developments in the field of literature and its publishing, as of March 6, 1879. Houghton, Osgoos & Co. will publish "Locusts and Wild Honey," by John Burroughs in a uniform edition with his "Wake Robin" and "Winter Sunshine." William Winter is one of the few writers on current theatrical topics who has knowledge of both, the stage and of the drama, as well as some share of the critical faculty and who has distinct ideas on the art of acting and shows, therefore, some sense of proportion in his remarks on the plays and players of the day.
