The article provides information on the book "The Dramatic List: A Record of the Principal Performances of Living Actors and Actresses of the British Stage; With Criticism From Contemporary Journals," edited by Charles Eyre Pascoe. The book is really useful for reference. Pascoe has done for the more important living actors of England what W. Clark Russell, in his admirable "Representative Actors," did for the long line of great dramatic artists who had succeeded one another on the stage of Great Britain from the days of Betterton to our own time; and what "T. Allston Brown" ambitiously attempted to do for all American actors, past and present, in his miscalled and ill-made "History of the American Stage."
