This article presents information on various literary works and developments in the concerned field. It reports the announcement for the unionization of two publishing firms, H.O. Houghton & Co. and J.R. Osgood & Co. The newly formed union is named Houghton, Osgood & Co. The president of the New Hampshire Antiquarian Society, Silas Ketchum, has undertaken to compile a "Dictionary of New Hampshire Biography." George P. Rowell & Co. have converted their annual "American Newspaper Directory" into a quarterly, beginning with the January 1878 issue.
