The article critically appraises the book "The Extravaganzas of J.R. Planché, Esq.," edited by T.F. Dillon Croker and Stephen Tucker. The book is one of the best theatrical literature and it presents new dramatic forms such as classical extravaganza and fairy spectacle. Planché wrote many little plays. He was the reformer of costume on the English stage. Planché in his book presents one of the most amusing theatrical reminiscence. The book also presents seventeen neat lithographic portraits of the author.
