The article focuses on the book "Ueber die Wasserweihe des germonischen Heidenthumes," by Von Konrad Maurer. In these pages Konrad Maurer gives an exhaustive monograph on infant baptism as practiced among the heathen Teatons, an important historical fact which has not before been properly treated. It investigates not only how extensively it was practiced among the heathen forefathers, and what its real significance was, but also how far it was the result of or modified by Greek, Roman, and Christian influences.
