This article focuses on the book "Rugby, Tennessee," by Thomas Hughes. This book describes the class of persons for whom Rugby was intended, the place itself, and its prospects. But other readers will be interested in it too, and whether they have any design of joining the community or not-partly on account of the subject, and partly also because of the particular point of view taken by the writer concerning the matter of which he treats. The last has indeed the interest of a type, and a type of a fine and wholesome kind and not especially common in the U.S., perhaps.
