The article focuses on the book "Scotland in Early Christian Times," by Joseph Anderson. This volume comprises the Rhind Lectures in archeology for 1379. The author is the Keeper of the National Museum of the Antiquaries of Scotland, and he is, therefore, thoroughly conversant with his subject. In his introduction the author defends the study of archaeology as necessary to an understanding of the complex civilization of the present, into the structure of which the past has been built up. The volume is tastefully illustrated throughout, thus adding considerably to its interest and value.
