The article presents information on several books and publishers. Harper & Brothers have in preparation Farm Festivals, by Will Carleton; Beauty in Dress, by R.M. Oakey; and Sketch of Thomas Carlyle, by Moncure D. Conway. They have added the revised New Testament to their Franklin Square Library. A co-operative work, The Public Service of the State of New York, edited by college president of Williams College, will be published, with illustrations by J.R. Osgood & Co. Author Karl Hillebrand's yet unfinished book, History of France. From the Accession of Louis Philippe to the Fall of Napoleon III, has begun to be reissued in a second edition for the first part by F.A. Perthes. The compliment to this remarkable work is well merited.
