The article presents information on the book "Honolulu. Sketches of Life, Social, Political, and Religious, in the Hawaiian Islands From 1828 to 1861," by Laura Fish Judd. Judd's memoirs are the latest addition to this considerable list, and are among the more valuable of the many missionary writings that it contains. They do not form a full or a connected history of the islands, nor of the "Caucasian" Polynesian, but they are useful memoirs, being written from a much more intimate knowledge of the people, and describing a longer residence, than that of most writers upon the islands.
