The article presents information about the book "Fifty Years of Science," by John Lubbock. Lubbock in his address as president of the semi-centennial meeting of the British Association for the Advancement of Science, held at York last August, reviews the progress of science during the last fifty years. Lubbock has forgotten that science is of no nation and cannot be represented by English speaking investigators alone. This exclusiveness is especially noticeable in his own department of biological research, in which he leaves wholly out of consideration prominent Continental naturalists.
