The article presents information on various political and economic issues in the United States. The New York banks gained $4,144,500 in surplus reserve during the last week. The domestic money market was very easy as were also all the foreign money markets, no gold was shipped and foreign exchange closed below rates at which gold can be exported without loss. The new Chinese Bill has passed the House by a heavy majority but it probably will have little actual effect in keeping the number of Chinese in this country. John F. Slater, of Norwich, has given two valuable hints to men who like himself are so fortunate as to be rich.
