This article presents information on various social events to be held in the U.S. American linguist Noam Chomsky will speak on "21st Century: Democracy or Absolutism," on Monday, October 17, 1994 at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Illinois. The play "Three Postcards," by Circle Repertory Company will be performed on November 2-December 11 in Manhattan, New York City. Three old friends meet at a trendy downtown restaurant to laugh about the old times, dream about the future and help each other through life's heartbreaks in this Off Broadway musical ode to friendship from Craig Lucas and Craig Carnelia.
