The article presents information on the book "Ancient Egypt in the Light of Modern Discoveries," by H.S. Osborn. The recent discoveries in Egypt, which have materially changed the conception of its history held even ten years ago, are scattered over so many volumes that it would be almost impossible for any one but the specialist to keep himself informed of the progress of things in this department, it is therefore a praiseworthy attempt that Osborn has made to present the new material in small compass and in popular form, and in some respects he has succeeded very well. He thinks that the genuine Egyptian coloring of parts of Genesis and Exodus sets aside modern results as to the date of the Pentateuch.
