The article gives information on the book "Marivaux: His Life and His Works," by Gustave Larroumet. The book focuses on works of French playwright Pierre de Marivaux. The book says that Marivaux's plays still charm everyone because they place one between heaven and earth, in a world of delicate sentiment, of half-expressed emotions, where love is ideal and seems afraid of itself, where all human passion seems to be transformed-more volatile, more mysterious and transcendental. There can be no more delicate pleasure than to see Marivaux's plays "Le Jeu de I'Amour et du Hasard," or "Les Fausses Confidences" or "Le Legs."
