The article presents a summary of news, from around the world. The formal completion of the Northern Pacific Railroad, by the driving of the last spike, took place fifty miles from Helena, Montana Territory, last Saturday afternoon, in the presence of many people, including the foreign guests. The banks in several U.S. cities have refused to accept the new postal notes and it is thought that their form will have to be modified to render them less liable to errors. The Vatican has adopted a very important decision in regard to the Church question in Prussia, which will permit of the removal of the misunderstandings existing between the Prussian Government and the Pope and render the resumption of negotiations probable.
