The article discusses the book "Maryland: The History of a Palatinate," by William Hand Browne. Browne's book deals with the history of Maryland, a feudal jurisdiction. Maryland is frequently called a Roman Catholic colony. The book is manly concerned with the period which followed the restoration of the Charter in 1715 and presents a good view of decaying palatinate. It also describes the revolutionary period. The article also mentions a paper "Sir George Calrert, Baron of Baltimore," which was read before the Maryland Historical Society by Lewis W. Wilhelm.
