One of Rwanda's most active human rights monitors Monique Mujawamariya, she was cut in an accident when someone tried to run her car off the road. She was later threatened by Captain Pascal Simbikangwa. Many of Rwanda's opposition party leaders have been assassinated in recent years. Dissidents and Western diplomats suspect the Akazu. "Shadow groups are behind the violence. But nobody can provide concrete evidence," said Dismas Nsengiyaremye, a former prime minister.
