The article presents information on the book "A History of Mexico," by Hubert Howe Bancroft. Cooperative industry has seen no more remarkable development than the two story fire-proof building on Valencia Street, San Francisco, where the historian of the Pacific States, with the aid of a score of trained assistants, is busily at work. It is a manufactory of history, whose output is three or four stout octavos each year. It might have seemed presumption in the San Francisco bookseller to plan twenty-five years ago to write a series of historical works in thirty nine volumes.
